Music for a better morning (Playlist)
Spring is here and summer is in the air…but there’s still six more Tuesdays left in the school year.
So lift your spirits with a quick Periscope pick-me-up! Music ranges from old favorites to new hits, and these 10 songs are sure to brighten your day.
Only seven of them are available on Spotify, but feel free to go out and find the rest on YouTube, Grooveshark, or another music streaming service.
#1-“Little Bitty Pretty One” by Thurston Harris
Originally written by Bobby Day, this song was popularized by Harris around 1957.
#2-“Timber/Counting Stars” by Sam Tsui (mash up)
Fun fact: Tsui graduated from Yale with a major in Classical Greek, but now makes his living making music.
#3-“Send Me on My Way” by Rusted Root
This song has been featured in many movies, including Ice Age.
#4-“On Top of the World” by Imagine Dragons
Imagine Dragons takes happiness to a new level.
#5-“MMM Bop” covered by The Vamps
This song was originally released by Hanson, but personally I like The Vamps’ version better.
#6-“The Sound of Sunshine” by Michael Franti & Spearhead
Franti & Spearhead are best known for their song “Say Hey (I Love You),” released in 2008–but this song is just as upbeat!
#7-“Halo/Walking on Sunshine” by the Glee cast (mash up)
If you’re big on dancing like no one is watching, this song is for you.
#8-“Best Day of my Life” by American Authors
It’s currently number 11 and rising on the Billboard Hot 100 charts!
#9-“Sunset” by Avalanche City
Just listen and smile.
#10-“Wake Me Up” by Aloe Blacc (NOT Avicii)
This is a lighter version of the famous Avicii song.
Enjoy!
