iPhone 6 adds to excitement in Apple industry (Review)
The long awaited and much anticipated iPhone 6 finally arrived Friday Sept 19 for those that preordered early enough.
The iPhone 6 and its big brother, the 6+, have been hugely popular, with sales topping 10 million units in the first week. This is up from around 9 million during last year’s release of the 5S and 5C, meaning that supplies are already running short. Consumer demand for bigger screens is clearly demonstrated in early sales, but a host of new features have helped drive Cupertino’s latest release to record sales.
The screens on the latest iPhones have been bumped up to 4.7 in on the 6 and 5.5 in on the 6+, keeping in line with industry rivals Samsung, LG and HTC. Apple’s retina screens make them some of the best looking on the market; the 6+ has the same 1080p resolution of a standard HDTV. An upgraded iSight camera and new A8 processor give the new iPhones some of the best hardware on the market, and when paired with iOS 8, they form a truly powerful machine.
Apple engineers moved the lock button to the side of the phone for a more ergonomic position on the larger devices, as well as rounding the sides to make them more comfortable to hold. The iPhone 6 remains small enough to comfortably fit in most pockets but the 6+ is massive compared to the older models. While not quite as large as an iPad mini, the 6+ will barely fit in a guy’s pocket — girls with skinny jeans will have to carry the phone elsewhere.
Battery life has been marginally improved in the 6 although the larger body on the 6+ means its battery lasts almost twice as long.
iPhone six models start at $199 while the 6+ starts at $299.

Apple has a wonderful way of outdoing itself, because it barely does anything. despite the simplistic design that attracts non tech goers, the iPhone has little to offer. the camera is less than half of all of the other cameras on android phones. it has three times less ram than the new android phones, it has less than half of the battery life, and many fewer functions. Unless you can afford to live in the apple ecosystem and you aren’t interested in any high tech functions, this phone is not for you. I will give apple credit on their advertising however because it has done them wonders.
