You’re never too old for cartoons (Editorial)
As a child, cartoons play a big part in entertainment.
TV networks such as Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, Sprout, and Cartoon Network are all household names in houses with young children.
In my younger days, I watched a lot of TV, especially cartoons, and now at my current age, the appeal of cartoons is still there.
Though many cartoons are targeted for a younger audience, I believe they are suitable for people of all ages. It’s almost like a doubly standard. Kids can watch both kid shows and adult shows, but adult can never watch kid shows, unless they have kids, without being ridiculed and called a child.
Cartoons are simple, entertaining, and usually teach some type of life lesson. Most adult shows these days are complex, dramatic, and may have lewd undertones that some people may not deem appropriate for children and some teens.
The child in me is attracted to the simplicity and art of cartoons and it helps bring back the good memories of my childhood and I enjoy watching them much better than TV shows like Empire and 19 Kids and Counting.
The Regular Show, Scooby-Doo and Spongebob Squarepants are some great cartoons that are played on Cartoon Network and Netflix, and Nickelodeon that I greatly enjoy.
No matter what age you are, just know, you are never to old to watch cartoons!

I watch a lot of more current cartoons with my little sister, but It’s not because I’m being forced to, It’s because I genuinely enjoy them. Sometimes people poke fun at the fact I still watch “Sid the Science Kid” or “The Amazing World of Gumball” but I agree that it helps bring back the good memories.

I completely agree with this. Even as a senior in high school i still enjoy watching cartoons every now and then partially to remember how great they are but also because it helps me remember back to instances in my childhood

I totally agree! It was actually the Scooby-Doo picture that drew me into this article. In fact I still call Scooby-Doo my favorite television show!

I definitely agree with Chenta’s argument. I believe that cartoons are a great way to stay in touch with your childhood, and exercise your imagination. Sometimes, after a long week of school, it is nice to just sit down and enjoy a show that you do not have to think about, but can just enjoy visually. People should not be ashamed to still watching cartoons, because I do not see the problem with staying a kid at heart. It can be beneficial to approach a situation with creativity and simplicity, and that is what I believe cartoons promote.
