Is “Age of Ultron” a super movie or just a mindless goon? (Review)
“Avengers: Age of Ultron” is the best movie you will see this summer. There, I said it. No movie, whether it be “Mad Max” or “Furious 7” or any other big-budget blockbuster can compare to the sheer amount of fun that can be found in “Age of Ultron.” With its massive cast, giant set-piece moments, and its great script, the new “Avengers” movie simply can’t be beat.
Coming off of last year’s incredible “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” and the goliath success of the first “Avengers,” “Age of Ultron” had a lot to live up to. The good news is that it managed to succeed in nearly every area. The bad news is that 1.) it has an ending and 2.) we have to wait for the sequel.
On the topic of sequels, “Age of Ultron” not only succeeds at being a great one, but also manages to set up its sequels in a very logical way. It manages to bring in characters for the next movie, while also getting rid of some. The writing is always excellent, and manages to make you laugh, cry, and even get a little scared by some of the characters.
The only character who isn’t completely consistent is Ultron, but that’s only a problem due to the marketing of the movie. In the trailers, Ultron comes off as an unstoppable killing machine who hates humanity. While it stays true in the movie, Ultron comes off as more of a comedian in the vein of Tony Stark, as opposed to the menacing, vendetta driven character that was teased in the advertising leading up to launch.
However, despite the shortcomings in the villain area, “Age of Ultron” more than makes up for it in the action area.
The fights in “Age of Ultron” are insane. Just like the first movie, getting to see all of your favorite heroes fighting alongside each other is a magical experience. Watching Captain America throw his shield to Black Widow, who has Iron Man shoot it with his laser while Thor and Hulk wreck everything around them is a sight to behold. Even Hawkeye has a lot of extra screentime in this flick, making his character seem even cooler than he already was.
Everything about “Avengers: Age of Ultron” is cooler than it was in the last movie. From the action, to the writing, to even the cinematography, “Age of Ultron” beats its predecessor. It may not always have the strongest villain, but you can be rest assured that it always has the most fun. If you see one movie this summer, make sure it’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”

I saw this movie over the weekend and definitely thought it was worth it! Everything Joey said about it was true and it kept my attention through the whole thing and lived up to the action packed thriller set by the first one. This was a wonderful movie and worth the watch

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. although I didn’t like that it skipped past how the avengers “reassemebled” which was a question proposed by colbie smulders at the end of the last movie, I still loved the plot. Joey is right this makes a lot of sense chronologically and the backstory that is added to hawkeye is fantastic. I felt like this movie was just as emotional as the first one, tony always risking himself, and with a strong sad twist. I don’t think any movie will be able to top this for at least a few months

I agree. I loved this movie and I thought it was interesting that they included more scenes that were emotional and less action packed. Of course, I love the action scenes and they movie had incredible ones, but I enjoyed the heart to heart moments. I’m talking about the good ones where we were introduced to Hawkeye’s family and the growing relationship between black widow and Doctor Banner. I also really enjoyed the brother and sister duo in the movie.

I was planning on going to see this movie. I just have not had the time. I can’t wait to see this one though.

Definitely agree, that this movie was awesome. Though I was hoping Loki would be a part of the movie, but over all it was a really good and I’d see it again.

I definitely thought Ultron was not as much of a villain as loki was in the first movie. Ultron came off saying he wanted to help earth evolve but then did the exact opposite. Even with all of that contradiction I agree it was a great movie worth the money and time.
