Fetty Wap’s Debut Album: Another Hip-Hop Disappointment (Review)
2015 has been Fetty Wap’s most successful year. His biggest hit “Trap Queen” has gone 2x platinum in the U.S. and his other singles “679” went platinum & “My Way” went gold. After several delays, Fetty Wap finally released his self-titled debut album on September 25.
The album starts of with the Fetty’s most successful single “Trap Queen” the melodic southern hip hop beats backs up the cheerful sing-a-long chorus.
“My Way” is probably the most upbeat ballad I’ve heard. The song starts lacking completely when its featuring artist Monty comes in. To be honest, Drake did a better feature on the remix.
“Trap Luv” might as well be the obnoxious remix of “Trap Queen”. The lyrics are incredibly unoriginal and will leave you unimpressed.
Throughout the entire album all the songs felt like terrible sequels to “Trap Queen” and what annoyed me the most were the unnecessary number of features that Monty has on this album. Overall this debut album is lacking lyrically and Fetty needs to stop saying “1738” in all his songs. Hopefully his sophomore album will be more impressive than his first.
