Marching Band performs in Orlando

One of the most common questions asked in the aftermath of the holiday break is “What did you do?” The answers vary from enjoying being able to sleep in to 1:00pm to spending time with friends and family.
One group of people who can definitely say they spent their break with a blast is our very own Carlisle Marching Band, who went to Disney World in Orlando and perform in the parade.
“It was very awesome,” said CHS band instructor Byron Mikesell. “It’s very exciting to get to perform at Disney World, especially since there are many things one must go through to perform in the parade.”
The band put in hard work which paid off as they got the chance to represent not only our school but the entire Carlisle area.
However while the marching band did work, they and Mikesell did get a chance to enjoy themselves while there.
“It was very fun to get to relax and just hang out with my friends,” said senior trombone player Rudi Bottse.
“I loved seeing the fireworks,” said junior tenor sax player Patience Fetter.
Even Mikesell got a chance to get in on the fun.
“My favorite part would be getting to explore and see the Kennedy Space Center,” Mikesell said.

I am incredibly jealous of the opportunity that the band was given, but I also think it is so awesome that they were able to represent Carlisle down in Florida!

I am beyond thrilled to be reading a story done on our band. As the senior drum major I couldn’t be more prouder of our band. They performed great in the parade and I will say it was the best Christmas break I’ve had in a long time. We certainly appreciate the lengths our director went through to get us there and I hope to see the band make many more trips like this one in the future.
