The Coffeehouse: First Cup held on Sept 26 was organized by English teacher Sue Biondo-Hench and technical adviser Greyson Rech at Carlisle High School. Singers were able to show their voices. People attended the coffeehouse to hear the singers perform covers and original material sing and listen to their poetry.
Students and family members joined in by clapping along and supporting the singers to make them more comfortable, while spreading positive vibes all around the courtyard.
Freshman Lex Wood was one of these singers. Wood signed up for Coffeehouse to perform in somewhat of a professional setting.
“It’s not about producing mainstream music that fits what’s considered ideal; it’s about expressing yourself and letting the music take control of you” said Wood, about her music.
Sophomore Marissa Danielle performed at the Coffeehouse, taking advantage of the chance to sing her heart out and to show her singing skills.
“It was a mesmerizing experience and I will definitely do it again,” said Danielle.
