Paul Blackburn was a member on the State Championship team in 1985-1986. He played college basketball at Slippery Rock University. Blackburn started his coaching career at Lebanon High School and now coaches the Hershey boys’ basketball team.

Most memorable moment at CHS was the “tremendous pride our community showed in all athletics and the school spirit… For home games walking out of the tunnel from the team room into a sold out gym.”

Blackburn was a part of the first state championship team and described the sold out Hershey Park Arena as “90% green and white.”

He also remembers refereeing the elementary basketball games with the rest of his team.

Words of encouragement to today’s student-athletes: “Be a great teammate and work hard with your team and coaches to be the best you can be. You will always remember the journey more than the destination.”
