Carlisle athletes sign their letters of intent to play sports in college.

Several Carlisle student athletes have done what many high school athletes will never get the opportunity to do: sign to play their sport in college.

Spring Signing Day, held on Wednesday, April 16, was attended by family and friends of the 13 students who signed to college.

Many athletes across many sports signed Wednesday, including Hasan Alic (wrestling–York College), Tim Atkinson (basketball–University of Pitt-Bradford), Bamasa Bailor (football–McDaniel College), Megan Bisker (basketball–Dickinson College), Jon Carroll (cross country/track and field–Shippensburg University) Jarret Cavanaugh (cross country/track and field–Norwich University), Sean Collins (track and field–University of Pennsylvania), Matt Levy (soccer–Widener University), Austin Marks (lacrosse–Ferrum College), Taylor McGrath (lacrosse–Ferrum College), Lydia Mueller (volleyball–Juniata College), Christian Pavlovich (track and field–Messiah College), and Ian Shannon (wrestling–Millersville University).

Atkinson, who will be attending the University of Pitt-Bradford, said signing “was a blessing. Not everyone gets a shot at the next level and it is an experience I won’t forget.”

Marks, partnering with his teammate Taylor McGrath at the next level at Ferrum College, said that “it was something special and a great experience.”

Bisker, who will attend Dickinson College in the fall, said, “My goal ever since freshman year was to play at the next level, and with injuries I wasn’t sure if it was possible. Signing was a great feeling and accomplishment for me.”

All athletes will begin their college careers in the fall of this year.
