Prestigious Alumni: Where are they now? Doug Harris
April 23, 2014
Doug Harris played baseball and football at Carlisle High School and graduated in 1987. He went on to the next level to play baseball at James Madison University for three years.
In 1990, he was selected by the Major League Baseball team, the Kansas City Royals. Harris is currently the Assistant General Manager & Vice President, Player Development for the Washington Nationals.
He is married and has three children; he prefers “to spend his free time with his family,” he said.
Harris said, “I don’t have a single best memory either academically or athletically at CHS. Rather, the whole is the thing that stands out most significantly for me.
“I made many lifelong friends [and I] was fortunate to be in a great learning environment that was established by terrific administrators, teachers and coaches,” said Harris.
His word of encouragement to today’s student-athletes is “to take care of the process and the results will take care of themselves. That involves patience, persistence and dedication. All of these things will serve an athlete well and also apply to life itself.”

I think this is a great article because its nice to know what some alumni are doing with their lives and how successful they have become.
