NFL trades may alter course of 2015-2016 season (Editorial)
This past NFL season was an excellent season. We saw the Miami Dolphins upset the New England Patriots (33-20), the St. Louis Rams demolished the Denver Broncos (22-7), the Cincinnati Bengals upset the New Orleans Saints (27-10), and the New England Patriots beat the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl (28-24).
After the Super Bowl ended, many teams were looking to make the most out of the early trades. The New Orleans Saints, Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks, and the Philadelphia Eagles either benefited or got hurt in the early NFL trades.
The New Orleans lost their star tight end Jimmy Graham to the Seattle Seahawks. In 2014, Graham had 85 receptions for 889 yards, and 10 touchdowns. He was a big target for Drew Brees and a reliable catcher. The New Orleans Saints also lost a really good wide receiver; Kenny Stills was traded to the Miami Dolphins. In 2014, Stills had 63 receptions for 931 yards and 3 touchdowns. The New Orleans Saints also lost linebacker Curtis Lofton, who was traded to the Oakland Raiders. In 2014, Lofton had 144 combined tackles, 99 total tackles, and 1 forced fumble.
The New Orleans Saints acquired C.J. Spiller from the Buffalo Bills. In the 2014 season, Spiller ran for 300 yards, but only averaged about 4 yards a run. The New Orleans Saints also acquired linebacker Brandon Browner from the New England Patriots. In 2014, Browner recorded 25 combined tackles, 20 total tackles, and had 1 interception.
The Seattle Seahawks acquired Cary Williams from the Philadelphia Eagles. In 2014, Williams recorded 59 combined tackles, 55 total tackles, and 2 interceptions.
The Seattle Seahawks lost Max Unger and Byron Maxwell.Traded to the New Orleans Saints, Unger only played 6 games in 2014 due to an injury. The Seattle Seahawks also lost Byron Maxwell, who was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles. Maxwell played 13 games for the Seahawks. He recorded 39 combined tackles, 35 total tackles, 1 forced fumble, and 2 interceptions.
The Philadelphia Eagles acquired Sam Bradford from the St. Louis Rams. In 2014, Bradford went aired the ball out 262 times completing 159 of them for 1,687 yards. He also threw 14 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions. The Eagles also acquired Demarco Murray from the Dallas Cowboys. In 2014, Murray ran the ball 392 times for 1,847 yards. He recorded 13 touchdowns in 2014. The Philadelphia Eagles traded Lesean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills. In 2014, McCoy ran the ball 312 times for 1,319 yards. He also scored 5 touchdowns. The Eagles traded their Quarterback Nick Foles to the St. Louis Rams for Sam Bradford. In 2014, Foles threw the ball 311 times but only completed 186 of them for 2,163 yards for 13 times. He only played 8 games.
The Miami Dolphins acquired Ndamukong Suh, Brice McCann, and Jordan Cameron. They received Suh from the Detroit Lions. In 2014, Suh recorded 53 combined tackles, 44 total tackles, and 8.5 sacks. Brice McCain was picked up from the Pittsburgh Steelers. In 2014, McCain recorded 25 combined tackles, 16 total tackles, and no sacks. Jordan Cameron was picked up from the Cleveland Browns. In 2014, Cameron caught the ball 24 times, for 424 yards and 2 touchdowns
In my personal opinion the Philadelphia Eagles made the best decisions in who they got and who they traded away. They got rid of a mediocre quarterback at best and got a half decent quarterback. They also got a really good running back but got rid of a really good running back also. I look for the Philadelphia Eagles to make a deep run in the 2015-2016 season.

i don’t see why the New York jets aren’t on here? I feel they made just as much big offseason, team building moves as the eagles. Not just saying that because I am a Jets fan, but simply look who have acquired. First of all we have Darrelle Revis back as one of our corner. along side of him we have Antonio Cromartie as well. Plus the addition of Buster Skrine, which now makes are corners something dangerous adding to the fact we have Dee milliner as well. on top of that we resigned David Harris, also have Muhammed Wilkerson, Sheldon Richardson, Demario Davis near the D-line. another addition is Marcus Gilchrest who will give more experience to hard hitting safety calvin Pryor. Offensive wise we have james Carpenter from the seahawks now on our O-line. Plus Eric Decker, and now Brandon Marshall as our number one Reciever, so I feel we made a big splash in improving our team.

I feel as though this season is different than others because you almost never hear about trades in the NFL. I can’t tell you the last time there was a blockbuster trade, but there have been numerous big trades this year. It is really cool to see other people moving teams and to see teams across the board becoming better.
