“Escape” to Florida: Three CHS field hockey players participate in recruiting event
On January 7-10, three CHS female field hockey players represented Carlisle HS at NFHCA Top Recruit Winter Escape. It was four days of competition and fun, complete with some added pressure from the college scouts in attendance. Ellie Tate, Kristin Lauritzen and Emilie Zukowski held their own at the event and came back with memories and several possibilities for recruitment.
NHFCA has put together a recruiting tournament that allows players to get exposure for college coaches and future teams.
Lauritzen plays on the club team and had this to say about the experience: “It allowed us to get a lot of exposure and we got to play against really tough teams. It helped us becomes better as a team as well.” She recommends this to other athletes because it is great exposure for colleges.
Club teams help you get more exposure and have a more competitive side to it.
Zukowski and Tate both say that they enjoyed going to Naples, Florida. They loved the warm weather and the tough competition of this trip.
While at NHFCA Top Recruit Winter Escape, these players got to go against some of the hardest field hockey teams. More than 250 college coaches attended ready to recruit the best players.
Tate had a great experience on her trip to Naples. “I loved getting to play for the coaches,” said Tate. “This was the opportunity for them to see me play in person. It’s helped narrow down the choices of where I want to go to school.”
