Cross Country Meet of Champions (Photos)
The Carlisle Cross Country team shined on their home course on Saturday Sept 24, when they hosted their annual Meet of Champions.
Eighty-five teams competed in Carlisle’s Meet of Champions, coming from towns as nearby as Boiling Springs and as far away as Colonial Forge in Virginia. Overall, the Carlisle varsity teams did extremely well, with the girls taking eighth place and the boys taking a tidy second.
The top Carlisle scorers were Gracen Cabral, who placedĀ 35th in the varsity girls’ race with her 19:33 time, and Noah Affolder, who placedĀ first in his race with his 14:47 time. He set a course record, as well as the record for the fastest 5K run by a high-schooler this year.
