Athlete of the Month: Eric Harris
Due to popular demand, we’re bringing back our Athlete of the Month feature! Check out our first installment, a Q&A with varsity football quarterback, senior Eric Harris.
Q1: How long have you been playing?
A1: 9 years.
Q2: How do you display leadership on and off the field?
A2: On the field, I have to make calls and lead the offense to score points. That translates into school and other situations; when someone needs to take charge, I step up.
Q3: What is your role on the team, aside from your actual position on the field?
A3: I was a captain this year so I, along with others, had to make sure practices went smoothly with no goofing off and that the team was healthy in terms of teammate relationships and communications between players and coaches.
Q4: Can you tell me a little bit about your tattoo and what it means for you?
A4: It’s my dad’s initials and the date he passed. It’s something I will always live with and felt that a permanent marking would be cool to symbolize what gives me my motivation in everything.
Q5: At this point, do you have any future plans or hopes for your future in football?
A5: As of right now I hope to play football in college, but we will see what happens.
Q6: Looking back on your time here at CHS, what memories will you take with you into the future?
A6: I definitely enjoyed out 2015 season. It may have helped that I led the state in yards and broke two school records for the season. But it was the most fun going out and putting up crazy scores with the team. I’ll be able to look back and remember the talent we had to help bring Carlisle back into the running for playoffs.
