Despite the allure of several local parks, an experience with nature is never farther away than your nearby woods. Finding something new or beautiful certainly isn't confined to just these locations.

Home field of the Carlisle Area Midget Football League, Village Park attracts fans of all ages. Additionally, a pavilion, playgrounds and a network of trails make this an ideal spot for more than just football fans.

In addition to having stunning foliage, Thornwald Park also has a trail leading around the park and to the Thornwald Mansion. The open fields are well suited for any possible outside activity.

The largest lake in the area, Opossum Lake and its surroundings encompass 274 acres. Residents can enjoy hiking, cycling, boating, fishing and birth watching here.

Nestled between the Conodoguinet, North Middleton Park is full of amenities. It boasts several playgrounds, pavilions, places to play baseball, basketball, volleyball, and easy access to the Conodoguinet.

LeTort Park is situated calmly in an otherwise busy part of town. Baseball fields, an impressive sized playground, tennis courts, a fountain, pavilions and water full of ducks makes this park an ideal location for all ages.

Hawk Watch, part of Waggoner's Gap, offers a view second to none. A short trip up a rocky trail gives anyone an excellent glimpse of the Cumberland Valley.

Carlisle Barracks seamlessly incorporates nature with a pedestrian friendly environment. Neighboring Army Heritage Education Center (AHEC) has an extensive route of trails for the history buff and jogger alike.

Mr. Erb counts change during Mini-THON club's annual Stall Day. The fundraiser raised $940 for the Four Diamonds Fund.
