Save the shorts for summer!
Jump into the spring season head first with fashionable yet season-appropriate clothing
March 22, 2014
Winter has had a good run but now it is time for a breath of fresh air. Spring is quickly approaching and with the changing seasons come changing wardrobes.
Yet it’s important to know when to wear certain articles of clothing. You don’t want to freeze, but you don’t want to wear a bulky sweater that keeps in all the heat. You need to find the right happy medium.
Finding that medium may just start with a fashionable top that will help with the transition into the new season.
Cotton cardigans are wonderful tops to wear in the spring. This lightweight top with buttons makes it easy to wear so that you stay warm opposed to hot. The thin cardigan makes it proper for wearing your summer tank tops without sacrificing freezing your arms off.
Cardigans can be found at any clothing store, from Body Central to Charlotte Russe for prices between $10 and $40.
Not only do you need an appropriate top to wear for the slightly warmer season, but you need some fun bottoms as well.
Jeans got you blue? In order to break away from the tiresome feeling we need to bring out bottoms that will leave a more spring-like colorful impact.
Lighter colors such as baby blues, baby pinks and yellows are what we need in order to complement the new spring season.
Stores such as Target and Kohl’s hold bottoms that follow the lighter colored fashions for $20 to $40.
Just remember: it’s okay to reconnect with your former summer clothing, but overdoing it is not beneficial. Breaking out summer clothes in spring is like jumping into a pool without seeing if the water’s cold. You might be fine but you will freeze. Wearing layers and spring clothing lets you adjust to the warming temperatures without turning blue.

I love a new cardigan for spring, but I’m not ready to put my winter coat away… 30 degrees in the morning says “no shorts” to me.

I definitely agree that people need to watch what they wear in transition periods of weather. The school is always freezing or dynamic in its temperatures and students needs to remember that. The article is right though that spring calls for a change whether it is in colors or style just for your own personal mentality.

Not everyone spring colors are the light baby blues. Certain colors compliment different people in different seasons. For example, baby blue does not compliment my skin color during spring or summer. I can wear more of gold. A person needs to find their own spring colors.

I think that this is true because as soon as people see a little sun, they go crazy and just throw on shorts and tank tops when in the case it’s kind of sunny with winds. Spring is a very odd season because the hotness of the sun can be beaming on you while the winds are blowing you away. It is just one of those seasons that you have to catch what the news says in the morning in order to know what you wear.

I for one, think that shorts are amazing year-round.
