Fashionable or Functionable: how will you choose to dress your phone?
March 26, 2014
Day after day, your phone goes without anything to wear. Shouldn’t your most frequent accessory reflect your style? Let’s dress it up.
Phone cases of all kinds are waiting to be matched with your everyday style.
Online sites like Amazon carry the latest trendy phone cases that fit your preferred style. Amazon, along with many other online sites, such as Etsy and Ebay, have great deals on cases either handmade, characterized, or full of multiple abstract colors.
When asked what attracted her to her phone case, senior Octavia Mowatt said, “The glamour and the style. It’s pretty and pink, see? It’s stylish.”
For a more feminine feel, the handcrafted bejeweled cases will become the apple of your eye. From Cinderella and her carriage to a peacock and its feathers, your phone will have an exotic look.
If the jeweled look isn’t your scene, phone cases of just color will most likely be a great fit for you. These cases will add a sense of originality without going over the top.
For the not-so-careful phone handlers, Otterboxs will be your saving grace. These cases will resist the impact if dropped from high places or on hard surfaces.
Senior Natasha Rosario said, “I look for a case that is sturdy and holds up well. I definitely recommend phone cases because I’ve dropped my phone plenty of times over the past year and they really helps with protection.”
Though the case is mostly made for protecting your phone, it can still be incorporated to fit your personal style.
Otterboxs may be a little pricey but depending on the stores you purchase them from, you can receive a great deal.
Though phone cases set your phone apart from all the rest, it is not meant for everyone.
Junior Daijah Escobar said, ” I prefer not wearing any cases because they tend to get in the way. I like the look of my phone without the case. If I were to wear a case it would only cover the back, because i dont like when it covers the entire phone.”
If you’re tired of the plain phone, look try picking a case that shows your own personal style. Not only does it add a personal touch it also adds protection to your daily used electronic.

I would vouch heavily for the lifeproof case because it truly does protect a phone from all of life’s situations. I also enjoy having the ability to take underwater pictures!

I agree with Marguerite! A lot of people spend a ton of money on a bunch of phone cases that they use for a few weeks until they get bored of them or they break. If they spent a little extra money on phone cases that were of good quality and that were appealing they would save a lot of money!

Having a phone case to protect your phone is amazing however our generation has become to caught up in the fashion aspect of the functionality of a phone case. It can be fashionable, but do you really need 10 different phone cases? Do you realize how much money you could save?

I usually go for functional simply because I too drop my phone. I still wonder how people can pick fashionable though because I change my mind so many times! It’s a very interesting article though. I really enjoyed it!

I really like the idea of a phone case, as I have many myself (or had many), but unfortunately, I have a problem keeping them on my phone. I either play with the phone case to the point of breaking it or I get irritated with how bulky it makes my phone. While i think that that a phone case is a good idea as it protects your phone, cases aren’t for everyone. In my personal opinion, cell phone manufacturers should make phone more durable so that they don’t need cases.
