Nailed it! What Pinterest may not tell you
April 28, 2014
We all want top notch nails that are salon quality, but finding a design that actually works may be difficult.
Sites such as Pinterest help to energize your creative juices so you can have the best looking nails, but what if the designs that the site showcases don’t work quite well?
One design that has been popular among Pinterest is the water marble design. Step by step pictures show how each of the phases should look when setting up for the nail art.
The pictures are perfect directions that help to subside the confusion many may have, but if the right equipment is not used, the step by step process will not work.
When water marbling, the directions fail to tell you to use certain brands. If you use any type of nail polish, the water marbling will not work and you will be left with a multi-colored streak on your finger.
Sally Hansen and OPI nail polishes are highly recommended brands to use for water marbling. The brand allows the nail polish to correctly form in the room temperature water so that the design is manageable to work with.
It is also important to make sure the colors you use correctly go together because if you try to make your design with the toothpick, the colors can blend together if the colors do not complement one another.
Another design that is interesting is the “Day of the Dead” nail art that is streaming on the Pinterest site.
The design gives your nail the skeleton look, making your nails look and feel festive.
When performing the “Day of the Dead” art work, you can use almost any nail polish and craft to successfully apply the design.
At Michael’s Arts and Crafts Store, they have a lot of items that can be improvised for the detail that goes into the designs.
Little foam pieces in the shapes of flowers, animals, and shapes can be found inside of the store. The pieces help make the applying process easier that way tons of nail polish is not used.
The pieces usually come in packs which vary from five to ten dollars depending on the size of packages you get.
When performing the nail art designs, it is important that you have nail polishes that will help you with certain nail designs.
Pinterest instructions tend to not tell you what nail polishes to use, so it is best that you do some research before experimenting with the nail designs.
You may need to spend some money, but remember: it is worth it if you want the salon quality nails you have been dying to grasp.

Pinterest has very creative activities or hair and makeup looks that look easy but can be more complicated than the picture portrays. Very nice article:)

I love Pinterest, but you’re right! There are many things that this informational website does not tell you. I really appreciate that you took the time to fill in some of these gaps. Even if it is just about nails, it is really helpful knowing where to go, what to buy, and approximately how much it will cost! Thanks so much!

I love trying new things and doing my hair and nails using Pinterest as a guide. This was really helpful and now I know what kind of polish to use if I decide to try water marbling.

When I got my nails done for prom, it was wildly expensive. Thanks for the advice!

I think it is really great for websites to supply information to girls about doing nail designs. Going to a salon can cost someone a lot of money. These websites offer quality and easy to follow directions for how to do your nails at home.

I am always amazed at the creative and artistic ways people do thier nails! I often see people post pictures of their nails on my newsfeed on facebook, instagram, and twitter. Evidently, this is a huge moneymaker!

What a good article. I usually check out Pinterest for the “look” of things and don’t really pay attention to some of the detail like what you provided in this article. Good stuff.
