Styles hit home: how to find the perfect dress for Homecoming
Homecoming for CHS is quickly approaching. Many are wondering the easiest way to get what they want. Along with this, there is an interest in the latest ins and outs of the year. Ladies especially are stressing because they haven’t yet been shopping or are afraid of having the same dress as another person.
Just ask junior Brooklynn Ashby.
“I still have yet to find the dress I am looking for,” said Ashby. “I have not been to a school dance in my last two years of high school, so I am really looking forward to it! Just have to find the right dress for me.”
For those needing help, it’s easy to find the style this year just by using the internet.
Senior Shannon Wescoat said, “I used Fabpartydress.com which is pretty similar to [the] Prom Girls website. It’s definitely easier! You can type in exactly what you want, or search within the categories. The only thing that sucks is you cannot try them on.”
A good question to ask would be, what colors are in?
A representative at the JCPenny department store said, “This year, plan on seeing many dresses in the shades of peach and royal blue. Those are our hottest selling colors, other than black and white, which most girls wear just to play it safe.”
Another important aspect to consider is what type of dress is wanted. Is it a tight or flowy season?
A representative for Macy’s department store said, “Our sales have been pretty much similar to last year; the young ladies are buying high-low dress, one shoulder, and the heart shaped neck lines. One new fashion statement we have seen is lace is coming back in.”
If you are worried about not finding the perfect dress, don’t stress too much. There is plenty of time. Keep your options open, and continue to look online and in stores. There might be a super hot deal to find!

Like Ryan, I think its a good idea to save money on homecoming. Instead of buying a whole new dress you’ll only wear once, borrow from a friend. Then, you can use that money for something else and still look great while doing it.

I frequent “Fabpartydress.com” for all my HOCO needs. They are a fantastic one stop shop where I can get a fab outfit. Walmart and Target also have some great opportunities for ladies and gentlemen to buy a fancy outfit. You can buy a black tie for under $20. That’s savings right there. If you’re spending more than $50 on an entire outfit you’re doing something wrong.

I can see how finding the perfect dress can be a struggle. That is why i’m happy that all i have to do is dress up with a tie to match my girlfriends suit. The guys have it easy this way.

If anyone is considering going to a consignment shop for their dress, Plato’s Closet in Mechanicsburg is a great place! It is a consignment shop franchise. They have up-to-date styles and cute stuff. It’s in the same strip mall as Outback Steakhouse.
