Carve it your way
Halloween is coming and people are starting to show off their carved pumpkins. As the colorful leaves fall, we put our hands inside a gooey pumpkin to fancy it up with our own creative faces/designs.
“Pumpkin carving is one of the best parts of Halloween,” said senior Delainey Koons.
Carving a pumpkin can mean a lot more to people than just putting a knife through a pumpkin to participate in a fall activity.
“Pumpkin carving is one way to get family together and spend time with one another,” said senior Keishla Ortiz.
Pumpkin carving can be looked at as a bonding moment with your family or friends. It can be a way to bring back the memories of other Halloweens you’ve experienced or other personal interests.
“I think pumpkin carving is another way to express yourself through art,” said senior Julia Jarnagin.
Yet it’s not all fun and games.
“I think it’s a lot of work, but it’s worth it because you have fun with family and make a cool pumpkin,” said senior Chelsea Seibert.
The experience can go both ways for everybody.
“I think pumpkin carving is fun to do, especially after you’re all done with carving your pumpkin and take it outside. It really gets you into the holiday spirit!” said junior Maria Ayon.

My favorite part of pumpkin carving has always been roasting the seeds afterwards! I really think that if movie theaters sold pumpkin seeds instead of popcorn, more people would go out!
