Sometimes it’s good to take a break from the technology, curl up, and read a book. With so many books out there, there is an endless amount to read.
There are books for all types of personalities! A lover of dystopian literature will find The Maze Runner to be an amazing book. Beautiful Creatures introduce those who enjoy supernatural powers to a whole new world. Historical fiction more your thing? Try The Book Thief.
Looking for something other than reading? Movies are in endless supply too. The last decade has been full of movies from every genre. Horror, comedy, romance, documentary, or super heroes; whatever your preference, there’s been a movie made.
Movies such as Interstellar take you into space, The Theory of Everything takes you into the life of Stephen Hawking, and Maleficent takes you to a different side of the classic Sleeping Beauty story.

“I’m Bored” Jar
An “I’m Bored” Jar is a jar in which you fill with things you want to do in the future such as go hiking, take a drive through the mountains, or just go for ice cream with friends. Ideas in this jar are for all year round and what better way to spend winter than thinking about your plans for the summer.
What you’ll need:
- Mason Jar (normal size or big)
- Paper (plain or colored)
- Pencil
- Ruler (if preferred)
- Glue (hot glue works best)
- Markers
- Construction Paper
- Any other fun things you might want to use
Directions:
- Make a tag with construction to hot glue onto the outside with the logo, “I’m Bored” written in marker
- Decorate the jar however you want! (I used little pom-poms and ribbon)
- Use the plain or colored paper and cut it into little rectangular pieces
- On those pieces write down things you want to do, fold them up, and stick them into the jar!

These are some great ideas! My favorite thing to do on a snow day is make hot chocolate; it’s perfect after coming inside after shoveling snow or sledding. The “I’m Bored” jar is something I wouldn’t have thought to do, but seems really fun and I’d like to try to make it!
