Off the page and onto the field: CHS’ first Quidditch deemed a success
Quidditch came to an end as a great success where everyone had an amazing time at the event. At the end, the two final teams came out to be the Gryffindor team and Slytherin C.

Senior Ben Ulrich thought that the games were “AWESOME! We have to do this all the time. This was so insane and it was really intense and really fun.”
Ulrich added, “When the Snitch started running around on a bike, I was like ‘What?! How do we seek that man?’ But I caught it twice! YES! So I recommend [that] everyone try Quidditch because it is totally worth it.”
Despite the large number of Slytherin teams, the Hufflepuff and Gryffindor teams dominated at the start of the games.
“It is very upsetting that we [Slytherin] lost so many games,” said junior Hope Miller. “We played Hufflepuff and they are awful and I think we needed to step our game up!”
The Gryffindor team was proud of their domination on the field and the intensity of the games made the competition fierce.
Senior James Webb stated, “We [Gryffindor] lost one of the games to one of the Slytherin teams but we finished strong.”
Speaking of the intensity of the game, senior Colin Buckley said, “I destroyed my broom in the process, a tragic loss, but it was amazing overall. If we make it to the finals, I would be honored to play in between the Powderpuff game.”
The magical game allowed the freshmen to beat several Slytherin teams.
Freshman Stephanie Crean said, “Overall, I’m really tired but I’m really happy because we won 3 games against Slytherin and only lost one. I’m glad I got to be part of it.”
The night was fun as well from the Snitches’ perspective. One Snitch, sophomore Aidan Checkett said, “It was enjoyable, tiring and very last minute. I would totally do it again and might even try playing the actual game instead of being the Snitch.”
After the games were all played, the final two teams were announced via morning announcements and Twitter. The teams of Gryffindor and Slytherin C will play their final match on Wed Oct 7 in the Ken Millen Stadium, as part of the Powder Puff event. Exact starting time has yet to be released.
