Create it Yourself Costumes: Using thrift-store finds for Halloween fun
Looking for a last minute Halloween costume idea? Your local thrift store is the perfect place to look. These stores are in your budget and easy to discover new fashion statements, especially for the Halloween season.
A thrift store is a store that people go and donate their used clothes for free. These clothes are properly washed for your usage and ready to be worn. They have it all, from jeans, skirts, shirts, to shoes, ties, and suits.
Thinking about Halloween costume ideas, there are so many different ways you can dress up for this festive holiday.
One idea, buying a cheap wedding dress or a suit and tie, for less than twenty dollars, and going as a dead bride or groom. Its simple, yet you could go all out as much as you want. Use makeup to darken your eyes and darken your dress, making it look old and dirty. There are so many ways to make your new costume a big hit.
Sometimes workers sell clothes that are outdated, like old sweaters, or dresses. That would be the perfect opportunity to go trick or treating as a cat lady, or a grandma. You could get old fake glasses to wear, and even have a cane. It’s a great way to make people laugh and have a great time.
Another idea is wearing long funky, colorful clothes with belts and scarfs. It’s a great way to go as a hippie. Show off your crazy, fun outfit. Also you could go as any time period you really want–the twenties, eighties–thrift stores have all kinds of clothes.
These are just a few ideas to get your mind going, get creative, and have fun with it. Happy Halloween!
